Introduction The StaRRsed
Auto Compact, a true Westergren system, is designed with experience with
over 700 StaRRseds
around the globe. The addition of the
StaRRsed
Rack now provides what the busy Hematology Lab has been demanding. Pre-sorting Of Samples Eliminated Using a bi-directional communication interface to a laboratory computer, the system knows on which samples to perform an ESR, and which ones to skip. That saves a tedious and time-consuming step of separating the ESR from the non-ESR blood samples.
As with all StaRRseds, the Auto Compact uses a minimal amount of low cost reagents. Simply place any blood cell counter rack in the Mechatronics universal rack adapter and walk away. The system takes over from there and leaves you and your operators available for other tasks in the laboratory, saving time and money.
The system does not use need special dedicated pre-disposable citrated tubes - it works directly with same EDTA blood samples already collected for the whole blood count. A drastic reduction in consumable costs and incineration expenses.
Many users are familiar with operating a Windows computer. Working with the StaRRsed Auto Compact is just as easy. The PC keyboard allows for any type of occasional data entry or query. You'll wish the rest of your Lab was this easy to handle.
The PC stores all data and allows for very fast and easy retrieval of information. Repeated demands from the referring physician can thus be honored at the push of a button. All StaRRseds conform to the method described by Westergren, which has since become the Globally accepted Standard Method as laid down by the ICSH. Therefore results can reliably be interpreted by the physician ordering the test. Each StaRRsed has a citrate diluter built into the system, which enables your FBC EDTA blood samples to be used. This cuts down your running costs. It also has the benefit that EDTA blood is very stable and may be used for up to 24 hours after venepuncture rather than the recommended four hours for citrated blood. This provides your laboratory with even more logistical flexibility.
The StaRRsed Auto Compact has an optical reader which is able to detect the blood cell interface, even in hazy samples. This means that those samples are reportable to your client.
The first results after introducing a rack to the system are sent to your laboratory information system in barely 30 minutes. Continuous throughput is 135 samples per hour. The Auto Compact delivers astounding results. Day in and day out. Citrate Dilution At ± 2% - Accuracy Specifications
